Jack The Ripper. A figure almost done-to-death in the world of fiction and victorian horror genres, but never quite explored or told on a creative design level. This five-part book series to unfold the story in a simple but playful way, with interactive page elements to guide the reader along the way.

Each part is designed with a differing stock and style relevant to the content told within, with Part I & V following a similar design as both book beginning & end. At the end of every book, it leaves the reader with a question to provoke wonder, and also to encourage reading the next part of the mystery. These were then bound together inside a hardback material slipcase, embossed with the title of the collection.

Part I sets the scene of the story, introducing the immortal mystery that began in the Autumn of 1888. This part includes harrowing letters allegedly written by The Ripper at the time and how the press were involved with spreading the news of the murders.

Part II is centred on the five key murders of the Ripper. These were the three women, who were titled 'The Canonical Five'. This book is the most graphic of the five, and contains a series of five perforated pages inside. These thus require to be 'ripped' open, with a knife or by hand - and hiding inside behind the perforation lay gruesome images captured by early photographers of the victims.

Part III then moves into the police investigation that tried to solve the crime. This was designed like a police file, with shaped pagers like dividers. The third part specifically focuses on the men behind the investigation and what roles they played.

Part IV condensed down a list of all the suspects considered to be the Ripper, both at the time and the years that followed. For each, their story and involvement with the case was told so that the reader can decide for themselves who may have indeed been behind the elusive ripper's identity.

Lastly, Part V brings the story back to the present, covering how the Jack The Ripper figure has grown into the multi-platform murderous icon that he is today. This covers his involvement in fiction, film and television - and also other crimes since that have been inspired by the original murders. Alongside this, it showcases the discoveries made in recent years with the aid of technology behind his possible identity as well.
