Chevrolet MyLink Interface Concept

The Chevrolet MyLink Interface Concepts exits because of the need not only to enhance the graphic quality of the current system, but the features that make it easy to use for the driver. This project was created for my Interface Design course, and has extended into a personal project. I am passionate about user experience and ease of use. Please see captions for more in depth explanations of design choices. Enjoy.
Basic Screen Display Techniques: Using an in car system presents a challenge, consideration needs to be paid attention to the understanding that as a designer you are taking light and projecting it into the users eyes and are expecting them to understand & use this lit screen. The darkened & flattened overall color scheme was implimented simply because of its ease of use, the human factors of ophthalmology indicate that large lit screens work better when they follow such color scheems.

Color Choice: Using the notion of the "red, yellow, green" color system drivers across the world are already trained to, I created a system that allows for the driver to quickly understand if their attention is or is not needed in each field of the home screen.
Gird System Layout: The lighter colors on the dark screen again allow for maximum comprehension. The newly designed grid system includes larger buttons and a smaller room for input error, but most notably the uniform look of each icon will improve the systems speed and allow the user to become familair with graphic representations, again, increasing safety.

User Confirmation: The betterment of the user confirmation within this system was motivation during the beginning stages of my process.
