Miami Dolphins | Rebranding Concept

MIAMI DOLPHINS
Rebranding concept

This is just one man's humble opinion, but ideally the Dolphins would make their throwback branding that they wear 1-2 times a year their primary... however since they won’t, I think a rebrand on their current set is the next best thing.

I think the Miami Dolphins need a visual identity that is much more cohesive and relevant to the city of Miami and pays homage to their past while being up to date. Miami is a very lively city with a lot of character and culture so I experimented with blending an athletics aesthetic with lifestyle branding that’s unique to Miami.

In this case study, I included 2 color ways: "Miami Vice" inspired and the traditional aqua / orange combo, which I call the "south beach" color way. The Miami Vice color way exploration pays homage to the neon blue & pink lights from the famous night life scene that occupies downtown Miami. In addition, the pattern inside the numbers on the alternate set, are influenced by the iconic logo of the 80's tv show, "Miami Vice". The second color way is a bit more classic in regards to Miami Dolphins' history: the aqua and orange has been a staple since their inception year of 1966. I kept the color palette the same to honor the rich history and tradition while leading the dolphins visual identity into the future with the new logo and wordmark sets.
