OFF - AIR
Inspired by the “Off Air” test screens of the CRT/VHS television era, this large-scale screen-print series of 10'' by 10'' tiles is designed to tile endlessly. The objective of this piece was to strike the viewer and envelope them in a dream-like setting – an amalgamation of nostalgia and technological surrealism.
This liquefied rendition consists of five screen-printed layers and personally-mixed inks. Each tile was printed and registered on 11'' x 14'' posterboard pages, trimmed to 10'' x 10'' and mounted in the BGSU Fine Arts Building Addition Hallway Gallery.
