This was my first outdoor shoot since before Covid 19 lockdown, around the corner from home, with my fiancé (so no social distancing needed) in her Brooks trainers, balancing natural light and flash (a Bowens XMT flash with a 100x40 softbox as fill in).
I also wanted to capture a close up action shot of the shoes in motion while running. This was a challenge for focusing so we made a mark on the road that Amanda aimed for to hit the focus point and then i just needed to get the timing just right to capture her in mid air just before her foot hit the ground. I used the high speed sync capabilities of the flash to shoot at 1/2500 of a second.
