KNOCKOUT
BOXING STUDIO
Boxing is one the oldest kinds of martial art in existence and is definitely here to stay. It has served as a source of entertainment for the public since a very long time. My idea was to design a space for teenagers which help them release their agitation and frustration. This kind of aggressive sport is beneficial for teenagers as at this age they generally go through various physical and emotional changes.
According to the Social Learning Theory by Albert Bandura, humans learn behaviour through the environment but most specifically through observational learning. Therefore, children tend to learn and imitate their elders. Children should have separate boxing gyms as seeing the aggression and frustration on adults while they practice this sport. Children tend to pick this behaviour and use it in such a way which results in domestic violence.
A hybrid club which includes various activities that attract teenagers. Activities like boxing, cycling, aero-boxing, muscle-strength and weight lifting are improvised in the space. Teenagers will learn how to tackle violence and bullying and will inherit the confidence to take control of their lives. The spaces are designed in such a manner which help in visual interaction.
