iconic mug
The project refers to the history, culture and traditions of the Aveiro region in Portugal. In the design, the character of the region has been rendered thanks to the use of its characteristic bright colors in the decorating of cups. The main inspiration of the decoration are Palheiros fishing houses, traditionally painted in colorful stripes. Despite the reference to the geographical context, the decoration maintains its universality. The traditional pattern is depicted on the geometric shape of the mug, thanks to which modernity meets tradition in the design. The set is based on the same cup shape and the motif of the belts, but it comes in 3 variants, where the objects differ from each other in the color combination of the belts and the geometric shape of the ear. The whole thanks to these treatments creates a coherent set.
