CD Chandeliers

While working in radio programming, I was in charge of maintaining a large inventory of cds received by many different record labels. Unfortunately, there were an abundance of discs that would never be used. Many attempts were made to give them away to fellow employees, but after they had sifted through the most popular music, the obscure, orphaned discs remained. This sparked some debate over how the discs would be disposed. They couldn't be easily recycled, as cds consist of both plastic and metal. After seeing large boxes of cds frantically discarded, I decided I would find a new use for them by creating a decorative lighting fixture, bringing life to the dying record.

These chandeliers were sold at a Pasadena art boutique called The Majestical Roof and featured at the S.O.TERIK grand opening party.
