Role
Concept, prototype and design for a new working project flow.
Project’s context and goal:
Workana is a platform that connects clients with freelancers in Latin America and Asia. As a Product Designer, my job was to understand the flow's actual issues and problems, interpret new features and redesign the process with a mobile-first focus. The goal was to create a new space where freelancers and clients can actually work together, talk, deliver the assignment and release funds for the freelancer’s compensation. Our aim was mainly to render it easy to understand and to add new tools and features that make working on the platform faster, safer and more agile; this was one of the most critical instances of our process.
Solution
Working side by side with the copywriting team and product managers to come up with a simple and clear explanation of the whole process and make it easily comprehensible. Integrating new features like an optimization of the deliverable files, allowing clients more control over the freelancer’s work, allowing them to add new extensions to continue working together, a new tracking tool for hours spent on a given project, among other features.

The project is divided into two parts, each containing different and relevant information for each user: one for the client, and another one for the freelancer. They both use the same structure and share similar concepts.
Once the client has selected a freelancer and made a verified deposit, they can start working, the initial screen provides a short tutorial on how it works and what to do next.

Once the project is ongoing, the client can create extensions, these are new task to continue working with the freelancer, also, can see all de deliverables files and project details
Once the freelancer is hired can start working, a initial page with a little tutorial and steps to follow is implemented
As the same for a ongoing project, the freelancer can see and suggest new extensions, deliver the work and comunicate with the client
New hourly project page, in this initial state we provide hints to the user about how to use and expect from this page
The client can approve or reject the hours reported by the freelancer and get a graph about his process in order to control the expenses and work
