Interpretive Video Design
Following a similar approach to the 3D Symbolic Cube, this video combines a series of artistic scenes in order to depict the lyrics of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer." I chose all outdoor-based footage that displayed the busy, exciting life in the city through vehicle or foot traffic. The intent was to apply different effects (transitions, blurs, etc.) throughout the video to showcase developed skill in use of Adobe Premiere.

HARD SKILLS:
* use of Adobe Premiere
* edit digital motion graphics
* edit and overlap various audio/sounds

SOFT SKILLS:
* researching and sourcing media
* communicate the overall message of a song through motion graphics
* creating visual interest by using background footage, animation, effects and audio
Incorporation of 2 stills was a requirement of the interpretive video design project. This is the first still that appears in the video -- it is the opening frame, that has been overlaid by introductory text to indicate the song title and year. The palm trees outlined by a colorful sky is the photograph used, to emphasize the romanticized nature of the song portraying the culture and experience of Los Angeles (and the women there).
This second still, positioned at the very end of the video, is also overlaid with text, revealing the other information about the song (name of artist and album title) as well as a graphic that was created in Adobe Illustrator (the ballerina feet). This was done intentionally to avoid movement serving as a distraction behind it.
