And Then You Read, Part 1
And Then You Read is an ongoing self-initiated book cover project, focused on developing a portfolio of cover images and providing means to refine my methodology and generate exciting work. I design a jacket for every book I read. I oftentimes also design type, lettering, and imagery for every jacket.
The name of the series comes from an excellent James Baldwin quote: “You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read.”
