BAND AID

Humans hide – realities in scars, fears, imperfections. Nature hides too, only proudly.

The godly mechanism endowed in nature to remain hidden while seen, absent while present is camouflage. Its parallel in us humans, is to hide every reality that we believe doesn’t need the light, every imperfection that doesn’t need to be shown and every secret that doesn’t need to be told. Camouflage in humans is a band aid, hiding complex mysteries of our simple lives.

‘Band aid’ is a physical extension of this spiritual way of being iterated through abstraction in the fabric and design. Abstraction through bleached fabrics attempt to enforce the idea of the seen-unseen and the mystery of the original. Layered fabrics with cut-outs representing chameleons become a bridge between nature and humans. This unification of camouflage in nature and humans becomes a backpack that hides all within.

Inspiration
Material trials
Enhancing the raw form of materials collected, to add a sense of individuality and customise the mood it lends to the product. This was done by collaging, layering, bleaching, bleach screen-printing and burning the original materials.
