The beautiful thing about influencing a brand from the ground up is that you have the opportunity to help craft the brand experience. What "feeling" do we want our audience to encounter? Blackberry Market gave us this opportunity – to not only create the basic elements, but help design the space itself.
Rule29 designed both Blackberry logos. The new logo initiated the company’s complete rebrand. We wanted Blackberry Market's brand to look established from day one. This meant that the brand would need to be bold enough to differentiate, yet approachable enough to embody the local vibe.
We extended the brand into multiple print pieces, and a custom icon set was designed for all of Blackberry Markets main offerings.
Focused on handmade and healthful eats, Blackberry Market brings people together through thoughtful and healthful food. We designed and developed their website to showcase their dine-in and to-go meals, promote event catering, and evoke a sense of belonging. Having worked with the owners from the beginning, every aspect of the design is infused with Blackberry Market’s personal style.
We learned early on that customers go to a local cafe's website for very specific reasons: directions, menu, and placing to-go orders. We wanted these elements to be front and center throughout the experience – particularly for mobile as that is where 97% of their web traffic comes from.
Blackberry Market's #1 channel for marketing is Instagram. This is because: 1) This is where their audience is, and 2) People buy with their eyes. We provided the Blackberry Market team with a visual framework to execute any seasonal campaign.
We applied the brand to other materials, such as a stylish t-shirt, that Blackberry Market was able to sell in their restaurant. We also created menus that customers were able to read as they stand in line which reflected the handmade nature of the food. Each Blackberry Market space has been designed to create an enjoyable and comfortable experience—whether you are picking up or dining in.
