Rear Window Review - Page Layout
This was a class assignment in which we explored emotional page layout. The goal was to take two descriptive words that are represented in the text, and create a page layout described by those two words. I chose Suspense and Confinement. I found it hard to display confinement initially without creating an overly cramped layout. This is what I ultimately landed on. By restricting the margins along the side but keeping more negative space around the bottom and top of the page I was able to portray that tight and cramped feeling without it being uncomfortable to read. The suspense is shown in the rising paragraph positioning. A feeling similar to that of the film, tensions and anxiety slowly rise up as time goes on.
