Two Sides of the Door—A Sam Mendes Film Festival
Objective
Choose a film director and design a film festival by conceptualizing a visual system and coordinating a complex set of materials.
Approach
Two Sides of the Door is a hypothetical film festival to celebrate the works of British film and stage director Sam Mendes. The entire visual system focused on interpreting the duality of home. I chose red and blue as main colors to represent the two sides of home. I used white painted wood to show the “perfect appearance” of the
home, combined with clear acrylic as “the window” for the audience to look through and see the chaotic interior.
