All Butts Are Cute Butts Project
I wanted to design something people resonated with and something that made people feel good, and I had for a long time thought about making a body positive project involving fruits and vegetables. I love the idea of people wearing something that makes them feel good.
I loved the idea of celebrating fruits and vegetables and how great they are, and I loved being able to celebrate the wide array of body shapes that we all come in. I wanted to communicate butts as being cute again, and going away from the mentality that bodies should be hypersexualized.
In my design, I tried to keep in mind its ability to become a pattern, and the composition and how it might look on different kinds of merchandise. I wanted the image to be clear from a distance so that its message was easily recognizable in the real world. I also wanted it to be attention grabbing, so I included a slightly exaggerated version of those colors of the fruits, not neon, but bright enough to evoke the feeling of healthiness and happiness.
