For my last typography class of my program us students were challenged to create our own typeface. This was by far the most challenging thing I've ever tried to do and I now have a huge found respect for type designers.

My typeface is named after my hamster, solely because I started this assignment around the same time I got her. I wanted to create a high contrast, condensed, display typeface. It did not end up as high contrasted as I wanted but it carried the idea I wanted. I focused a lot on the uppercase set because I found that was where I wanted it to be used the most considering it is a display font. I also wanted to play around with angles, in the "A" and the "E", etc.

Along with the typeface itself we also needed to create something to promote it with so I chose to do a square quote booklet. Brie is the display font and is used secondary to Brandon Text.

I am grateful for this experience, although I would like to change a million things I don't think I could ever get this perfect! I have so much respect for those who can create perfect and beautiful typefaces.
