These are pictures from my sketchbook, where I planned the magazine color. Including colors, style, and just brainstorming. I ended up going with a parody magazine with an intended audience of cultists.

I forgot to take screenshots of the progress up to this but this is my magazine design.

I had a lot of success in the overall feel and look that I wanted. But I had some issues with texture and text and filters I had to figure out. Like getting the texture to be visible over the text. I made improvements with some gradients and masking for the smoke and hands. I even added a little QR code, magazine price, and my name to finish it off. I learned some typography things with fonts and types, as well as some extra things with masking.
