The House of Gestalt

Gestalt Principal Project

This project is a compilation of illustrations that portrays some of the Gestalt Principles. These rules can be easily seen in our own home, that's why I started this project. As you go by you'll see different parts of a house.
The cover is different from the layout inside. Although the typographic of the cover is using Gestalt's Principles, this completes the project and makes it whole.

The HOUSE OF GESTALT a book where you can see Gestalt principles or laws in visual elements.
These principles aim to show how complex scenes can be reduced to more simple shapes.
The Law of Symmetry is the gestalt grouping law that states that elements that are symmetrical to each other tend to be perceived as a unified group.
The Gestalt law of Common Fate states that humans perceive visual elements that move in the same speed and/or direction as parts of a single stimulus.
The Gestalt Continuity Law explains how our brain experiences visual line of elements that are grouped together. There is a tendency to perceive a line continuing its established direction.
The figure is the text itself and the ground the paper on which the text sits. The law of Figure/Ground states that we can distinguish an object (the figure of the rule) from background (the ground). This rule shows that when we look at a design, we perceive the figure from the ground distinctly.
The Law of Similarity is the gestalt grouping law that states that elements that are similar to each other tend to be perceived as a unified group. Similarity can refer to any number of features, including color, orientation, size, or indeed motion.
