Rebranding of Sunoco: Standards Manual

First page of standards manual that explains the identity of the company the new brand will convey.
A brief company history is listed and the selected brand is featured with an explain of it's meaning. Based on a symbol for the sun, ⊙, the brandmark was given an a dynamic feel to convey energy and also represent the environment. While Sunoco is a fuel distributor (gas stations), they have an excellent environmental record compared to larger oil magnates. The logo type is set in a modified version of Century Gothic.
Specific guidelines were provided on how the brandmark and logotype were to be used appropriately.

Blank India ink was placed in water and photographed and then the image was applied to stationary to look like petroleum. Letterhead and inside of envelope has a full bleed of the yellow-orange gradient that is used in the brandmark.
