The Mask of Ignorance

While some masks are worn to protect.
Some with masks inflict.
While some mask up to conceal.
Some masks go on reveal.
While some masks keep a contagion at bay.
Some try to mask the hurtful things they say.
While some on the frontline fight without masks.
Some sit cozy in high places barking out ludacris tasks.

You mask your fear.
You mask your prejudice.
You mask your hatred.
You mask your intelligence.
You mask your casteism.
You mask your incompetence.
You mask your selfishness.
You mask your violence.
You mask your vileness.
A mask cannot silence.

Fear is a mask that many wear.
Breeding paranoia with everything they hear.
Hurting hands who provide care.
When they hold within them the cure.
Don't hide behind that mask of ignorance.
For the right masks doesn’t cover the eyes of cognizance.
