Mestizo is a Filipino-Spanish restaurant by Emilion Specialty Restaurants. The paella was chosen as the dish that best represents Mestizo – a Spanish dish that was adopted by Filipino cuisine.
A simple mark was created to represent a paellera, the traditional skillet used to cook and serve paella. This icon doubles as the letter O in a simple wordmark that uses an inline typeface to represent the fusion of the two cuisines).
Custom illustrations created for the menu were based on elements from the interior of the restaurant. A more hand-drawn organic style was utilized to give off a more casual family vibe.
