Blue belt refers to bodies of water such as rivers, creeks, lakes, coastline, etc. In some of the world’s major cities, e.g. Paris and London, bodies of water serve not only as visual highlight; the blue belt of a city could also provide spaces for leisure or play a role in climate regulation. By adopting ecological engineering methods, the main objective of the Qingshui Park Downstream Revetment Improvement Project is to protect citizens and agricultural land from disasters caused by flooding and collapse. By incorporating concepts of landscape architecture, the result is the creation of a space that connects everyday life and nature.
