L'Etranger - A Series of Posters

Written by French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus, L'Etranger is a novel that challenges the values of free will and societal norms with the protagonist, Meursault. Meursault is the stranger of our society because of his inability to lie. Where lying ( white lies included ) would often make situations more convenient for everyone, Mersault avidly refuses it. It's this outrageous need to be truthful that leads him to kill a man because he felt uncomfortable in the heat of the beach, and that led him to imprisonment and in the end, condemnation to death by the very society that was threatened by his existence.

The aim of this project is to use the medium of 4 posters to emulate the mood of four pinnacle moments of the story arch. I wanted to emphasize the typographic element as a key visual connection between the four posters. Arial was the only font used.
