solitude
I deeply love my solitude.
It's my return to rhythm
in a loudly rushed world.

Both an anchor and ecstasy
when overwhelm rushes in.

The challenge for this project was to create something that could be displayed at the office gallery in the future. Taking that challenge further, I decided to create something that is far from the usual client work that I do: digital art and photo manipulation.

I was initially drawn to this sculpture from the Met Museum's open source gallery, and wanted to create something out of its photo. The top part of it looked like a mountain, so I ran with that idea to see where it would take me.
As an introvert fond of the images of space, I wanted to create an image that conveys the message that inside of us is an alien planet that only a few appreciate and understand. To me, the mountains evoke a feeling of peace and silence — a good place to reflect in solitude.
thank you!
