NIGHT AT THE MOVIES
The objective of this project was to redesign two movie posters; one being for the 90s classic Goodfellas, while the other could be a movie of our choice. However, with the latter, we were restricted to using three solid colors.
GOODFELLAS (1990)
With this poster, my main goal was to show the character development of the film's lead, Ray Liotta (Henry Hill). I used three different scenes (from left to right) that I thought best portrayed his descent from a life of equanimity to hysteria.
I also added Robert De Niro (James Conway) and Joe Pesci (Tommy DeVito) and tried executing the same concept as I did with Ray Liotta.
The Goodfellas poster below was an attempt at staying true to the original.
THE GAME OF DEATH (1978)
With this poster, I wanted to stray away from the usual 'illustrative' designs of posters from the Hong Kong cinema era. Instead, I attempted to place Lee in an ominous and moody atmosphere while still adhering to the iconic yellow and black colors from his jumpsuit.
