Mixed Media
In recent years, social media has evolved from an information sharing apparatus into an engine of social change. This has led to many political witch hunts. Many celebrities have had their rise to fame accelerated by social media only to have that same mechanism turn on them and cause their ultimate fall from grace. This has been the case for many average citizens as well as celebrities, causing them to become a public enemy due to a poorly chosen statement or innocent question. Those afflicted by this social malady are mere playthings to those who chase them, a miniature facsimile of a real human.
I created this work as a warning message of the dangers of allowing social media to become the dominant determinant of our identities and self-esteem.
