Social Distancing Posters

As the curve of the new coronavirus (a.k.a. Covid-19) flattens here in China, people start to resume their pre-epidemic life.

The restaurants and shopping malls are re-opening. Subways and buses are packed by a growing number of daily commuters. Business meetings are held as frequently as they used to be. Gyms and training centers are getting warmed up again.

While the world is entering a full-scale battle with the pandemic, people in China show signals of lowering their guard, gathering after work and during weekends.

We should not.

The following posters were created to remind people of the potential risk of not continuing with social distancing, and of hastily heading back to normalcy.

The visuals on the series are inspired by movies, with elements taken from famous film posters as well as news photos.

On this one, the medical staff was taken from a news photo in China, while the panic woman in the foreground was from the movie Shining.

The man running with a suitcase was taken from the Ben Stiller version of the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

The last one of the series has a hospital bed in the center. In the background at the bottom, the man crying and surrounded by medical staff was from the Korean movie, Flu.

We are in this together. I hope things will get better around the world.
