Cataratas y leyendas started with an architect’s passion for the outdoors, that passion turned to an obsession to document Costa Rica’s unexplored waterfalls. The result of that same obsession is this book.
Javier and his team of outdoor explorers had been documenting their weekend strolls for almost two years, traveling for hundreds of kilometers, walking deep inside Costa Rica’s untamable rainforest, either under a stubborn rain or a burning sun.
Turning all that visual documentation into a book was an easy decision, but since life ain’t good or easy, the team would have to endure one (or several) more challenges before they could see a printed version of their book as their hard-drive with all the videos and pictures went straight to hell! So they went back to all those magical places, re-took the pictures, and it was time for us to jump in.
We added more spice to their stories through high contrast illustrations that reflected the intrigue and mystery behind each legend while taking special care on the book layout. The resulting book became an instant best-seller in Costa Rica and Javier is now preparing for an English version.
Remember kids, obsessions can become a life quest, and later a book or a nice design project, so while you focus on the obsession Pupila will be here waiting for your call.
