Tales
Conceptual Magazine Design

Client
Tales is a independent Spanish short story magazine. The publishers, Tales Magazine, sought to create a new concept and artistic direction for the magazine.

Concept
My design concept is inspired by the original illustrations and The New Yorker, the magazine's conceptual inspiration. For that reason, I proposed a magazine with two colours, black and red, and two typographies with which I could design, in entirety, each issue and its sections.

It was important to facilitate immersive reading, so I paid close attention to the typographies, text blocks and colours.

My Role: Art direction, ideas and inspiration, research, concept, design and layout.
