ART 121 Cross Contour Drawing

To create this drawing, I had to begin by setting up a still life with a compelling compositional structure and good overlap. I began by creating some thumbnail sketches, shown below, to investigate the still life and find a composition I wanted to continue with. Once I chose a thumbnail, I began using sighting and measuring to make the light structural lines and establish the composition. Then I used line weight, contour lines, and cross contour lines, to create definition and show form among the objects in the drawing.
