Assignment: Create a design based on the form from a chosen object.
Time spent: 2 weeks
/INSPRIATION/
Inspired by a skull of a barred owl found in the RISD Nature Lab.
/SKETCHES/
Sketches were drawn to explore iterations of the backpack, focusing on exploring different materials, folding techniques and color schemes.
/PROCESS/
After having a general look in mind, the bag was made through free-hand folding and pinning, and eventually sewing. Without the excessive planning process, the bag is able to be formed to a more organic shape.
/FINAL PRODUCT/
Handcrafted with fabric on sewing machine.
