I designed this bedside table around the concept of waking up with an idea and having a quick and accessible place to jot it down. I designed the night stand with a modern feel comprised of one open storage area with a large top, sitting on two modern style legs.

I decided to make the jot section of the table with a clear plastic so the details of the ash wood grain could still be visible. The area is routered out so the plastic sits flush on the stop surface providing a smooth and non-invasive writing experience. With a simple dry erase marker, users are able to jot down quick notes for whatever they may need.

The nightstand also has a routered out phone dock that has holes for wire access so users can easy charge their phone while keeping it neatly out of the way. The table prototype was hand made and finished with a Minwax for a waterproof and elegant look. The overall aesthetic of the table was inspired by Artifox desks.
