First Baptist Logo Mark

This is the version of the logo that's in use now.
Note the return to "First Baptist Zachary" from "Zachary's First Baptist," the addition of the colors and the tilting of the Z mark compared to the version below.

I strongly advised them to go with a "branded house" approach with all of their many ministries and that's been working well. I typically use a shadow-less one-color version of the round Z mark on almost every church-wide design I do and some version of the ministry logos on the ministry specific designs.

The fonts the previous pastor chose weren't very functional, and since he has moved on, I generally opt for using the Avenir font family in our official layouts.

If I had it all to do over again, I'd have expressed my concerns about the font choices a bit more clearly and pushed for that a bit more, but I'm still generally happy with the mark. [2019]

Worship Ministry font: Avenir
Children's Ministry font: Kingpin Lowerized
Student Ministry font: Century Gothic

All created in Illustrator CC on Mac OS. 2016.
This a modernized version of the logo - designed in 2015 when a new pastor came on board.
Design was inspired by many different modern designs and began as sketches. This was a challenge mostly because the decision maker wanted to adopt someone else's logo for ours and I had to make sure he was aware of why that was not possible in relation to copyright laws and best business practices.

Fonts: TeX Gyre Adventor and Adam CG Pro [fonts chosen by the boss]
The text within this logo was changed the year after he implemented it as you will see in the above image...

FBCZ logo - this was one of the first major design tasks I tackled when I was hired. [Illustrator CS4 on Windows 7, 2010]
This is the logo FBCZ had when I arrived, fall of 2009. I recreated this in illustrator so I could use it in various applications without it losing quality, because what you're seeing here is the largest version of the logo that they had access to. Needless to say, the pastor was ready for a slightly more modern logo but he didn't want to move too far from their roots - as you may know, First Baptist churches are notoriously a little more formal and traditional than other denominations.
