Dear Synthia is a personal exploration in sound design and synthesis used in pop music as well as an exercise in branding by blending design, audio, photography, and social media. The project is ongoing, but so far it has proven to be a fantastic way to coalesce many of my personal artistic interests and emotions.

TAPE was written after a difficult time in my life early 2019. I decided to purchase an OP-1 to make music. Upon receiving the it, the instrument fell and broke in less than 48 hours. The damage was mostly cosmetic but it seemed to sum up my attempts to move on at that point in time.

The photography is from a trip to Mexico which i shot the previous year. I wanted the aesthetic to be peaceful and it seemed like i was always to find just the image from this set to fit the mood of the singles. Most of the songs were named after things involving building or repair. TAPE is dedicated to the memory of my father. His love for music was a deep influence on me and my creativity.

Escape is a step in the direction of what i originally envisioned Dear Synthia to be aesthetically as a project — danceable with a tiny amount of darkness. The branding was geared more toward that kind of dark futurism.

 THE MONTRÉAL SUITE

This collection of songs was created on a short trip to Montréal. I wanted to capture what our time was like there — very busy. I again use photography i made on the trip to reflect the city and the music i created. Each song was released one by one on social media over the course of a week.
