Singapore has more than 227,000 domestic helpers, mostly from Indonesia and Philippines. Many have had to make sacrifices so that their families can lead better lives. This video features Auntie Harlin, a domestic helper working in Singapore for the last decade.
With the idea of trying to bring her closer to the community of foreign domestic workers (FDW) in Singapore, Kitchen Lokal was born. Kitchen Lokal is a one-day event whereby FDW meet up and share recipes, cook up their home cook food together and make friends with one another.
