Embroidery was and is one of my first creative passions. I started in 1996 working for Pacific Print Works, a Nike vendor in Portland Oregon. Embroidery Digitizing gave me my start in apparel design and it allowed me to experience the many styles of embroidery within apparel and design. I later went on to work for Slazenger Golf, I ran the Art & Digitizing Departments for East Course Headwear in Charlotte, NC. and eventually became the Lead Digitizer and Embroidery Consultant for the Boys and Girls division at Abercrombie and Fitch.
Below is the first design in a series I am working on in which I am combining my digital and embroidery skills to create works of Digital art.
Mama's Dream
This creation was inspired by my mothers first trip to the incredible and fascinating landscape of Western Colorado and Utah. She remarked when she got back, that the beauty of the land and the kindness of the Native Americans she met had brought her a sense of freedom and peace that she had never experienced.
