St. Louis Science Center
Reed College in Oregon is home to the Reed Research Reactor. This nuclear reactor is mainly ran by undergrad students and is used also for research purposes.
The Reed Reactor is more of a hands on experience in Oregon. Because we can’t recreate a nuclear reactor at the science center, I thought of how I could simulate the experience without the risk from the elements. I was inspired by the glow of the reactor in the dark; I used paper marbling to mimic the glow of the core in the water of the reactor. I then wanted to incorporate icons that children could read and would get them excited and curious about this exhibit.
