Chandri's Deli - Shillington Branding Portfolio Project

Chandri's Deli
Student project (2014):
Brand and packaging design. Created in response to a brief at Shillington College on their graphic design bootcamp.

Inspired by my mum's love for cooking I wanted to create a story about a family run deli. I started with some old family photos with a view to create a separate food recommendation and narrative for each family member.

For the packaging I wanted to bring out more of my mum's interests and she's particularly passionate about Indian clothing. The pattern in the packaging is taken from the Indian Bandhani, one of the oldest forms of tie dying in the country. The clothing and food really are an art form made with extreme care.

I deliberately chose a triangle shaped die-cut to help the packaging stand out. There's also a space to hand write the name of the food item ordered and a spice option to allow for personalisation and really home in on the idea that the food is freshly home made.
