Natália Soldera's profile

PhD workshops - plural dramaturgies

Workshops for the PhD's research project La fabrication de la scène et les pratiques qui favorisent la composition de dramaturgies plurielles.

Lab. 0 - La salle des portraits

Video installation. 2018.
Conception and creation.

Base idea: creation of a portrait wall with white masks and video mapping.
The idea is a deployment of the practice-based research project AREA - Autour du Rose Enfer des Animaux, inspired by the text Le Rose Enfer des Animaux by Claude Gauvreau, led by professor Robert Faguy, to which I did a research assistance in 2017–2018 .

The installation is constituted of a white wall, made by two pegboard panels, to which 14 white neutral masques were attached, some masques have alterations, like bigger eyes or closed eyes with white paper. With this base I created, through video mapping, 14 independent video portraits and I explored different possibilities of interactions between them. The installation is composed of a 10-minute sequence played in loop.

Lab. X - Le Double

2019

Base idea : explore the plurality in its minimum : two elements. By creating two double relations : one in video with two monitors and the other in sound with two speakers.

In this laboratory I explored the interactions and possible dynamics between image and sound, through two output monitors and two speakers. The interactions were explored through variations in space (physical and virtual) and time. Know more about the investigation here.

This laboratory will conclude in the format of an interactive video, that is in editing process.

Lab. P - Prélude

Immersive installation. 2020.
Dramaturgy, video conception, création and integration.

Base idea : create an installation inspired by the texte Automatisme pour la Radio by Claude Gauvreau with two robotique characters in an immersive room.

This laboratory was in collaboration with professor Robert Faguy and musician and PhD student Thomas Rieppi. It is the first of several workshops lead by professor Robert Faguy to investigate the creative process to compose plural dramaturgies for the scene. I was responsible for the video aspect of the installation (animation of the robotique figures and projection and the 4 screens). I investigated remaining question from my previous laboratory, mostly around the possibilities to create interactions and relations between elements by exploring the potential of space and time variations.
