Recently my Zbookx2 and I were invited to contribute a piece to the Birds Of Prey: Emancipation of Harley Quinn poster exhibition for Cinemark Theaters, Lima, Peru and Curated by Collective Alley!
I originally struggled a bit with trying to capture the energy and emotion involved with Harley Quinn's emancipation. The direction I started with was too typical and already resembled some of the existing promotional elements out there.
I REALLY WANTED HER TO BREAK FREE FROM HER JOKER IMPRISONMENT!
Below are some quick Photoshop Composite sketches to assist with having an accurate reference for cast resemblances when building my vector file, plus they also allow me to quickly send to the requester so that they can see a broad stroke of the direction I plan to offer.

And then I took a serious step back and realized that I had the creative solution buried within my previous Joker contribution and all I needed to do was help Harley burst out, break free and fly away with a huge smile!
Below- Vector shapes of the actual illustration.
Below: the countless amounts of vector anchor points - and NO- I don't use the Gradient Mesh tool or any fancy third party plug-ins. Its all 100% hand drawn in Adobe Illustrator using my Zbookx2 and Z4 workstations - Z by Hp.
Like I said - I really wanted Harley to break free and smile while flying away!
Very thankful to both Cinemark Peru for the invitation to exhibit!
And also thankful to Collective Alley for the invitation to play!
