So typical of many such houses in this area the house was a good size but with a growing family more space was needed. The kitchen was really not big enough so it was extended out in to the garden, and a separate utiliy room was designed in. The existing small rear bedroom was increased in size and a fabulous large family bathroom incorporated. On they side a new side attached garage was built with hipped roof in keeping with the house.
At a late stage in the planning application the planning officer had reservations about the projection of the two storey element and their perceived effect on the adjoining house, but we reacted quickly and by making small changes we managed to avoid a possible refusal and gain planning consent.
