LOST IDENTITY
Fear of Losing Identity is one of the most common fears faced by millions around the world. The way you can notice its presence in your life is by becoming aware if you’re able to accept yourself for who you are today, but deep down you’re worried about changing and losing yourself along the way. And, Identity Crisis is a psychological term that describes someone who's in the constant state of searching for his identity.
You’re reluctant to push for more money at work, because you’re afraid spirituality and wealth don’t mix. Or it may be because people may know you as a good person, but you’re rarely described as charismatic or forward-thinking. By sticking to who you are instead of who you could be, you find yourself missing out on a variety of career and financial opportunities. When you see people with the abundance you know you could have, you may experience an uncontrollable feeling of resentment towards them. That's where identity crisis can give a powerful blow to your self-confidence and your self-image, and that’s why building a solid identity is something that can make you more confident and more solid when you face life challenges.
Identity development is, indeed, a lifelong process. But sufficient social support could enable the individual to
overcome the crisis with less stress.
