Every year, SCAD hosts a 24-Hour challenge called Generate. This year, for the Illustration department, the challenge was to design a mural concept for the interior office space of Payscape in Atlanta, Georgia.

Payscape is a financial technology company that works with small to medium size business owners to help them process payments and improve their business systems. We were able to take a tour of the Atlanta office space and meet some of the company employees, and we learned that their company culture was very young, fresh, and cool, and they wanted a mural design that reflected that.

The space in question was a uniquely laid out lounge/welcome area for visitors in their office lobby. They didn’t have any specific things that they wanted in the mural, just that it would be fun, reflect their company culture, and liven up the space.

My mural concept was to incorporate human figures—and their company dogs!—playing around the space. I wanted it to be simple for easy implementation, operate around their company colors, and still fun and inviting.
