Vicissitudes

We chew, spit out, walk away, pass by, look, forget, see and chew again.
We consume things so quickly, whether it is a chewing gum or an image.
Though, what we often overlook is that one thing can so easily turn into a different thing.
So we often face things that we thought we left behind, ahead of us.
무상천류 (無常遷流)
나는 오늘날 어김없이 땅을 본다.
바닥에 눌어붙은 껌딱지들이 보인다.
인간만이 씹고 뱉어버린 껌딱지들은 시간을 버텨낸다.
그것들이 자신의 존재감을 찾을때 즈음엔
그저 하나의 잔상이 되어 내 머릿속 어딘가쯤 배회하다
어젯밤에 본 어둠 속 깜빡이는 가로등 사이에서 나를 마주한다.
발 밑에 있다고 등한시 하던 것들이
눈떠보면 이미 앞서 가 내 눈을 바라보고 있더라.
