Adrenaline - Branding & Marketing

Adventure Starts Here
Client: College initiated project
Service: Corporate Identity & Marketing

Create branding and promotional materials for a new outdoor pursuits company called Adrenaline. The company aims to offer courses, training and equipment to everyone, from beginners to the more experienced. The branding needed to be vibrant and exciting and appeal to both residents of Aberdeen and tourists. The promotional materials had to contain high quality images capturing stunning scenery of Aberdeen as well as the activities.

Deliverables:
• Logo
• Business Card
• Brochure Folder
• Website Home Page
• Leaflets (1/3 A4 size)

My process: My initial plan was to take a trip along Deeside to get a feel for the location and see some of the adventure companies that were already present within this location. I took this opportunity to take photographs of scenery within this area using my DSLR camera to be using in the promotional materials. The use of close up shots of different people’s faces within the leaflets were used to invite the customer into the activity.
Logos in development
My approach to the branding was to stay away from cliché hearts and mountains that I saw throughout my research. I decided to create a geometric logo that contained both a graphic and type which could be used separately or together. The use of the triangle was to represent both adventure and the ‘A’ within the logo while its geometric style was to give a sense of stability and strength. The logo was then adapted into other colours which were used to represent each different activity.

A4 presentation folder with a glossy finish
The idea behind the presentation folder was to create something that was multifunctional but also eye-catching. I created the flap folds in a specific way so that they could hold multiple sheets of A4 paper and all of the promotional materials but so it could also be used as a presentation when communicating with potential customers. The flaps can be folded down so that the folder stands upright, the inside contains information on all of the activities offered which is used when presenting the company in a meeting.
Promotional leaflets & business cards. Leaflets printed on uncoated paper with spot varnishing.
For the business card, I wanted to create something that was more than just a piece of paper. The business card is printed on high quality uncoated paper with a green coloured seam to match the brand. The idea behind attaching a carabiner and a compass to the card was to help adventurers out in a sticky situation – what if they were in the middle of nowhere with no signal and no idea where to go? – Business card to the rescue!
