From inspiration, to paper, to patterns, and finally, fit and finish!

This dress was inspired by the fossils of the dinosaur Aveceratops Iammersi. The requirements were complimentary color choices, at least eight style lines, and some form of a hole. I selected a very dark green solid and a fossil-like print that incorporated red. My style lines and cut-out placement replicate the horns and the head piece of the avaceratops.
This look was inspired by the Pussy Willow plant and incorporates two recycled items: window curtains for the top fabric and tree bark as an adornment. The skirt is made of a plush gray velvet that was originally dark brown. I painted the fabric in a special way to appear gray while still having that brown undertone that the Pussy Willow bulb has. The fabric also stayed very soft.
This garment was inspired by a trip to the zoo where the zebras caught my eye. I wanted to create a dress that captured the pattern of the zebra without looking like a zebra print fabric. Each stripe was specifically patterned and is a separate piece of fabric. This garments is made of 100% woven wool.
This color-blocked, one-piece swimsuit sums up the season through its clear inspiration of the summer sun featuring a large circular opening and tiny cap sleeves.
