Obsolete Objects

The stipulated brief for class required us to utilise the assigned object(s), stripping it of its primary function and rendering the object useless. The straightforward process of extracting knowledge from a book - you pick it up, open it and scan its pages for information. Utilising machinery in the workshop(s), I sought to take apart the secondhand books I procured: incision lines were created on a randomised grid and pieced back together, by regular embroidery thread.

Having rearranged the components of the dissected book, selected pieces were simultaneously glued shut (deterring the straightforward process of extracting information).
