Minneapolis Screen-printed Postcard
Self-initiated project
I created this postcard while I was studying a semester abroad in Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I wanted to make a postcard from scratch to send love to my family and friends and since I was taking a screen printing class, I decided not only to create the design of the postcard, but also to screenprint it myself in the incredibly beautiful printshop that I had available there.
In the streets of Minneapolis I could find interesting examples of Art Deco architecture and ornaments so I chose to design my postcard using that style. At the same time I happened to stumble upon Nick Misani's Skillshare class "Vintage -Inspired Lettering" which is all about Art Deco lettering, so I was able to use the information he provided as supplementary inspiration for my design.
Thank you!
