This design was for a print and PowerPoint program called "Marketing Boot Camp". It was a system designed to help explain Cornerstone's Marketing Department and what they could offer to new loan officers who are beginning the on-boarding process.
The project manager wanted to play with the boot camp concept, giving it a military feel, yet still fun. I decided to develop a patch idea, as what you might see on the sleeves or chest of our uniform if we were instructing the loan officer in person. To avoid creating a preference over any single branch of military, we infused a few concepts from both the Army and Airforce (US) to create something that felt similar but that did not appear to be anything "official".
